About Us

JBA was founded in 1995 as a specialist engineering and environmental consultancy with an interest in flood risk management and the environment as a whole. Today, we are one of the largest employee owned consultancies in our sector. Being owned by our staff, we are free to make long term business plans and to invest in research and education.

The JBA Group now employs over 500 people and directly or indirectly supports over 1,000 people.  We operate from 23 offices in the UK, Isle of Man, Ireland, Germany, Cambodia and Australia and work on projects all over the world.

Since 1995 the business has achieved success through organic growth and merger to become one of the most admired consultancies in the UK and Ireland.  

We will remain independent to allow us maximum flexibility and to ensure we can all enjoy the rewards of our success.

Our intention has always been to create a specialist consultancy with an inter-disciplinary approach to our offering. Today, the JBA family includes the original consulting business (JBA Consulting); a specialist company for assessing and managing risk (JBA Risk Management); and the JBA Trust, specifically created to further research and education in our areas of business.

We will continue to diversify into allied areas of development and new markets. We will also continue to create and build knowledge through training and development. 

We will rely on the willingness of our teams to operate for the good of the business and our clients, while continuing to seize opportunities quickly.

In September 2015 we proudly celebrated our twentieth year of independence and are looking forward to working with you over the next twenty years!
